The chart presents information on what graduates and postgraduates in the UK decided to do after graduating from college in 2008. Overall, the majority of students pursued higher education, while volunteering was the least popular choice. Furthermore, the number of graduates in every category was almost ten times as many as the number of postgraduates.
Among college graduates, further study was the most appealing option with 29,665 registering for the program. More than half of that number was recorded as part-time workers while a comparable portion of college graduates was unemployed. Only 3,500 graduates engaged in voluntary work after graduation. Postgraduate students exhibited a similar pattern. There was a strong tendency towards further education, which attracted 2,725 individuals. The second largest group was those employed part-time (2,535). Meanwhile, unemployment among postgraduates was also high (1,635). It is noteworthy that only over 300 people in this group were involved in voluntary activities.
