The given tables elucidate the growth of global population and changes in its distribution between 1950 and 2000, and predictions for 2050.

Overall, the global population is expected to rise to 9 billion by 2050, and only Africa will witness a rise, while others may witness stability, or a decline.

In 1950, the global population was 2.5 billion, which rose to 6 by 2000, and is anticipated to grow to 9 between 2000 and 2050. Africa witnesses an initial rise from 9 to 13% of world population in the number of inhabitants, and is expected to increase substantially to 20% by 2050. However, Asia that houses the biggest proportion was 56% and climbed to 60%, but will stay at 59% by 2050. Similarly, Latin America and Oceania had 6% and <1% in 1950, respectively, registering a climb to 9% and 1% respectively, but would stay constant.

But, Europe and North declined from 22 and 7% respectively, to 12% and 5%, and will plummet further to 7% and 4% respectively.
